The Courage of the Mountaineer

ArticleCreativity

We all want to succeed. To win, to climb the ladder. However, do we know the true definition of the verb to succeed?

We all have in mind the image of the strong woman who climbs mountains without falling. Let me share a secret with you: this woman falls constantly. She doesn’t show you her weaknesses, but she has them. She falls, but you don’t see it.

Her real achievement is to get back up every time.

She doesn’t let fear cloud her path. Sometimes she takes the time to have a good cry, but it’s only to pick herself up after each fall. Stronger than ever.

As a woman entrepreneur, I often feel like I’m climbing a mountain, too. And just because I’ve reached a comfortable level doesn’t mean I want to stay there: I’m always looking for better ideas, the ones that will propel my business to the top.

Wanting to climb higher and higher requires boldness.

Sometimes I climb so fast that I feel invincible. Other times, my hands are sweaty and prevent me from holding on to a grip. Then, sometimes I fall.

But it is by searching like this and even failing that I manage to get up even stronger. Each time I resume my climb, I am always faster and more skillful than before.

Courage is not the absence of falls.
Courage is not the absence of failures.
Courage is having the audacity to step out of your comfort zone and risk everything. It is accepting the falls and the failures, learning, and then starting over

It is by having this kind of courage that we can make our businesses shine: not because we never fall, but because we constantly try.
